The machining of the wax block with complete precision is a fascinating process to watch. This piece started out as a block of wax that was 55mm high, 55mm wide, and 15mm thick. The finished product is a wax representation of the piece that is ready to be cast in the desired metal.

The Revo 540 currently has five basic ways of milling. These five methods cover most pieces. However, there are options that we can choose for unlimited milling possibilities. Gemvision is also releasing further options for the Revo 540 that will enable it to mill things that is has been previously unable to do.

For most flat, simple pieces such as pendants and even some rings, a simple two-sided process is used. For pieces that have designs or stones set along the sides, such as eternity bands, we use the two-sided process, but we also take the wax and put it through a rotary mill process. For pieces that have complicated heads or bales, we use a three-sided process. Lastly, we have an option that only uses the rotary function.
