As well as providing professional quality pieces of jewelry for our customers, we at Michael Dickey Design also provide a wide range of services done to exacting standards for the jewelry industry. Among our services are such basic repairs as ring sizing, welding rings together, chain repair, and all types of bracelet repairs. Although we still use standard industry methods to do many of these jobs, in the past eight years we have become one of the most experienced and effective operators of laser welding technology.

Laser welding technology began being used in the jewelry industry approximately 15 years ago. We purchased our laser welder in 1999 and immediately incorporated it into our approach to repairing jewelry. With the laser welder, we are now able to complete jobs such as re-tipping and rebuilding prongs on colored stones and rebuilding gallery and filigree work at the highest quality.

Also offered are electro-plating services. We are able to rhodium plate, gold plate, copper plate, and nickel plate jewelry. Most plating jobs require a three-step process. For smaller items such as prongs, we use a pen plating system. For two tone pieces, we mask off the non-white areas and then put it through the three-step process.

We also restore antique or estate pieces of jewelry, rebuild filigree work, provide custom fabrication, provide decorative engraving as well as engraving on the inside of rings, and do limited work on titanium pieces of jewelry, as well as eyeglasses and high quality watch repair.
